Dreamland

Dreamland now has a lovely new home in the Episodes section, where you can view all the videos, download a Dreamland wallpaper and check out a new gallery. We'll be adding more videos and other goodies to that new section over the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the blog is no more! Comments have been closed down and we won't be adding anything else. There will be new content, but you'll only be able to access it through the Episodes page.

Thanks again for all your comments and questions, and just for following Dreamland over the past few months. This isn't the end of the journey, though! In fact we're just getting to the really good bit!

See you in the Episodes section and from all the blog team - thanks for watching and see you in Dreamland!

Gary Russell Q&A Part One

Will R - Online Host | 10:30 UK time, Thursday, 12 November 2009

Gary RussellAs previously mentioned we'll soon be moving across all the Dreamland videos and info to its new home in the 'Episodes section', because the adventure is now imminent! Don't forget it starts on Saturday, 21st November. But before we go, we're delighted to bring you part one of the Q&A we recently did with Dreamland's director, Gary Russell. You'll soon be able to find this in the new Dreamland section and that's also where the rest of the Q&A will appear.

A thousand thanks to everyone who submitted questions - both for this Q&A and our previous one with Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner. We really enjoyed doing them and finding out the things you wanted to know.

And finally, big thanks to Gary for being so charming and free with his time during a period where he scarcely had time to breathe, let alone answer our questions! Much appreciated.

Animated WhoOver the past few months it's been great to share regular updates with you during the production of Dreamland. We really enjoyed bringing you videos and artwork and reading your comments - at times they've kept us going!

We're now approaching the end of production and getting ready for our promotional campaign to start next week and as this is the case, we'll be closing the blog on Thursday. In the meantime, we're keen to hear from you and would love to know what have been your highlights and best moments over the past few months. What videos have you enjoyed the most? What would you like to see more of in future? Q&As? Videos with the stars? More behind-the-scenes reports?

And as the Doctor once said, 'It's the end, but the moment has been prepared for...' So we'll be shifting a whole load of Dreamland content to a new section of the site - the type of page that normally houses all our content surrounding a given story of Doctor Who. But before that, get writing and letting us know what you've enjoyed about the first blog we've ever tried on this site! Thanks again!

Dreamland

We're delighted that we can at last confirm that Dreamland will debut on Red Button and on this site on Saturday, November 21st.

As we've already confirmed, it's a six part adventure, and details about individual episodes are starting to emerge... details below. Is this the kind of story that you were expecting? What do you think are going to be the dramatic highlights? And after reading these details, are there any characters or creatures you're really looking forward to seeing?

Episode 1

Dry Springs, Nevada, 1958. The Doctor befriends a young waitress, Cassie, and her friend, Jimmy, at a diner. The Doctor activates an alien artefact and, after finding further signs of alien activity, the US Army intervenes and takes him and his new companions to the mysterious Area 51 in Roswell, where they find out about Operation Fallen Angel. Will Operation leader Colonel Stark succeed in making the curious trio forget what they have just seen?

Episode 2

Seeking refuge in the abandoned town of Solitude, Jimmy stumbles across a disconcerting discovery and the trio encounter Viperox royalty.

Episode 3

The Doctor cannot understand why the Alliance of Shades' mop-up team are more concerned with the whereabouts of a piece of space flight hardware than the hordes of Viperox pods hidden underground. Things start to fall into place when Jimmy's grandfather, Night Eagle, introduces the Doctor to Rivesh Mantilax.

Episode 4

Captured by the US Army, Rivesh is finally reunited with his wife, Saruba Velak. Meanwhile, the Doctor discovers the unsettling truth about his real identity.

Episode 5

The Doctor and Saruba have to confront the mysterious alien force in the vault housing her space ship if they are to save her husband and stop Lord Azlok from rousing his sleeping army.

Episode 6

As sunset falls, the Viperox drones start to attack the US Army base. Can the Doctor find a way to halt the seemingly unstoppable aliens in their tracks?
